"Infinity, you say?" The wolf smiled, her smooth wise voice a comfort to the kit. "Come now. I will take care of you. Things will be alright...."
And things were alright. Infinity grew to a strong, intelligent pup. She lived with Crunchy for a very long time, learning about the ways of life, and how things worked. They romped into the trees and plains nearby. Crunchy taught her of nature, and about the sky and stars. Everything was okay..... But there was one thing that had gone unspoken.......
Crunchy's warm smile faded into a serious expression as Infinity stared at the fire. The flames danced and flickered on the wolf's pelt, nearly blending together. "Hello little one." Crunchy said, padding up from behind. "You've learned a lot from me." Infinity smiled. "Yeah. Of all the things, fire is..... it intrigues me." She replied, without switching her gaze. "I see. As you know, life goes on in the world. And you can't live here forever. So now, I'm going to put you back in the world so you can feel what it's like to really live." Infinity was taken aback. "But I do live here! It is my home now!" Crunchy frowned. "You must go now, dear..... Into the world..... Your destiny awaits you....."
A flash of lightning engulfed the room, and everything went black. A rush of wind ruffled Infinity's fur, and the last thing she heard was, "Infinity....."
